Long Ago...

Geez, has it really been over a month since I last looked at our blog? Time is flying by and I guess I'm just falling behind! I've been reading my friends' blogs, so figured I better get back in the loop of things!

First, I've decided to pursue another passion of mine...photography! I was blessed to get to take some really awesome family pictures over the past month when I traveled back to Nebraska with my two little boys...that's for another story! 8 hours and this momma really knows how to mix bottles and successfully feed a baby while driving down the highway! Not to mention, the DVD player is simply the BEST invention ever for traveling with little ones! I think Blake watched Spirit 5 times in a ROW during the trip home! THANK YOU LORD!!!  But like I said, that's for a different time...when I have time to blog about my trip.

Anywho, photography has become a real enjoyment of mine. I love to capture the little moments while taking my picutres. I'm not one to really "pose" people. I mean I want them to look good and not have something in their teeth or a bra strap showing, but I try to just catch them in their more "comfort zone".

The second reason why I would like to do more photography on a part time basis is because of my family. I've decided to cut back hours at the hospital to 32 hours a week instead of my 36-40. My new hours won't take effect until the middle of Sept., but I'm excited for it. I'm realizing more that I really need to be home and I don't want to miss out on things that my boys are doing. Not that I didn't notice this before, but hopefully, we're getting more established with our cattle, that 'ole momma here can work a little less and be with her family more!  So, let's hope that this newfound career will help me accomplish that...work less away from home and be able to just do pictures according to my family's schedule!

Now onto the update on my boys~  Blake is going to be starting preschool next month. He's only going 2 days a week, but he informed me that it would be 5~ YIKES! I told him I think we'll start with two and see how it goes! He's growing up WAY TOO FAST! He loves to be his daddy's helper. He's pretty much a regular at the sale barn now and knows the farm store manager personally. What a little man he's becoming!

Grady is almost 10 months old...did I just say that? "TEN MONTHS???"
When did he grow up?
He's crawling all over now and can say "dad", wave bye-bye, pat-a-cake, pee-a-boo and "so big" (where he holds his hands up over his head when you ask him how big he is). I'm afraid it's true when they say the second one grows up way faster than the first! They are my life and so much fun!

Mike is doing great. He's busy with his cattle now that he runs with his brother, Paul. We're selling the other 250 head here in a couple of weeks. He's also been busy haying! We've been blessed with lots of rain this year, so the hay is in abundance!

Our other exciting news is that we'll FINALLY be moving into our "final resting place" - aka new home - well, new to us - in 1.5 months! I'm SO excited to have a house of our own that we won't ever have to move from ever, ever again as long as I live...(I sound excited don't I?)...house! I can't wait to unpack and never have to pack up again if I don't want to! I'll be keeping you updated on that!

Well, that about sums us up for now!

Happy Trails Ya'll!
