Vacation Baby

This week, my soon to be 4 year old took a vacation with Papa and Grandma to Colorado. I tried to talk him out of it by saying, "wouldn't you miss your mom and dad and Grady?" or "it's a really long drive and if you want to come home, I can't come and get you?" His response was, "Nah, I'm really want to go and play with my little cousins and see aunt Mandy and uncle Jason. I'm a big boy mom!"

I'm surprised at his age that he would want to take a trip like that without his momma and daddy....makes me sad.

The Three Amigos

last minute instructions...probably a "be good" and "listen to papa and grandma".

and a great big hug..."you can still change your mind, Blake."

a kiss for the road..."oh momma, please?"

all buckled in and ready to go. "Wait mom, get Lighting McQueen working first." Like I said before, thank goodness for DVD players!

and away they go..."Bye Blake, don't forget to write...and change your underwear, and brush your teeth..and..and..sigh, 'well Dad and Grady, it's just us now, I think I'll go and eat some chocolate."

I'm sure he's having a great time and papa and grandma are getting ear fulls of "I'm hungry, I'm thirsty, I got to go to the bathroom, and ARE WE THERE YET!"
